Welcome to the Bobcat Swim Club Courtney Werner!  I am pleased to announce that Courtney Werner has accepted the position of Head Coach for the Bobcat Swim Club this year.  Although you all will get to know Courtney over the next several months, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce her to everyone. 

Courtney is actually returning to the Bobcat Swim Club.  She actually grew up on the competitive team that was hosted here at the Aquatic Center, although not officially called the Bobcat Swim Club at the time.  A graduate of the local high school system, Courtney came to Ohio University to obtain her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Recreation and Sport Sciences; Specializing in Coaching Education.  During her time here at Ohio University she was an active part of the women’s college swim team.  

She served as a graduate assistant with the college team here at Ohio University while getting her masters.  In addition she worked for the Aquatic Center in various capacities before leaving us for the University of Buffalo.   While there she served at the Head Assistant Swimming Coach including working as assistant camp director and swimming coach. 

Courtney comes to the Bobcat Swim Club with many years of experience as a swimmer and coach.  Having personally worked with Courtney for several years, she has always maintained a positive and professional attitude.   My early years of employment there were several changes that needed to be made to the overall Aquatic Center program. Serving as a facility supervisor, she was supportive and did a great job supervising students and programs offered here at the Aquatic Center.  

I believe that Courtney will be a positive addition to the Bobcat Swim Club and supportive of other Aquatic Center programs and events.  As stated before she comes to us with experience and passion for the sport of swimming.  I hope you will take the time to get to know Courtney and welcome her back to the Bobcat Swim Club.  I look forward to working with Courtney as she develops the Bobcats.

We will be having our first informational meeting for returning parents on September 13^th at 6:00 pm.   This meeting will be held in room 115 West Grover.  Come out and meet and get to know Courtney for yourself.
